Old '98 Being Retired

Original Owner, bought the first '98 to hit the showroom floor in Texas, owned it ever since. My fourth LC, it has never let me down. 320,000 miles, and I'd jump in it tomorrow and haul a trailer 8 hours in the heat. If fact, did just that two weeks ago. It is currently registered and inspected. Drive it home.

Anyway, just bought its replacement, a LX470, and am looking for a good home for Old '98. I suspect that its best value is as a parts car. The buyer at CoPart offered $3500 based on the pics attached here. The interior is very rough - front seats torn, carpet dirty/stained, wood grain discolored/missing. Middle and back seats are great - I've actually not had them in for a couple of years to give me more room in the truck.

The paint job is bad too - lots of time in the sun and highway miles - but most of the body panels are good. I could probably get some good money for the front clip by itself.

The drive trail all works fine, but it does have those miles.

Whatcha say? Anyone looking for a project truck? Wanna offer something for the front clip or drive train?

Wow...320k is impressive. Total testament to the longevity of these trucks. I bought a 99 back in 2005 from the original owner with 50k on the clock and built it into very capable expedition rig. After daily 7 years of daily driving and beating it up during multiple trips to Canada, Moab, Death Valley etc. I had 175k miles on it and sold it for a 5.7 Sequoia. If I pull out maintenance and expendables (tires, brakes, wipers, belts, fluids, hoses etc.) I spent exactly $200 in repairs on that old 99. I just sold the Sequoia and replaced it with a cherry one owner 2004 100 series and am starting all over again. Needless to say I regret selling that old 99. GLWTS...this 98 has to be well worth at least 3500 bucks!

Preaching to the choir here, dieselbigot, LOL. I tear up a bit thinking about getting rid of this one - we been through a lot together. Two of my kids used it during their high school years. I've slept in it many times - and not only camping. It's somewhat of a family legend. The idea of parting it out when it has never let me down just doesn't seem right. It's a proud truck and deserves respect in its final years.

Where in Texas are you located? I would really like a 100 as my 80 is over built to be my daily at this point. I can't offer you much, I'm in school and we have a baby on the way.

Thanks for all the interest everyone. I sold this truck to a local broker for $4500.
