I know you guys are busting my chops, it's cool, but...:flipoff2:

And I'll be perfectly capable of busting my own Birf's thank-you-very-much. :D

I'll admit, I'm a recent Toyota convert. I previously had a :gulp: Fullsize, but I've decided to take my wheeling in a different direction - Smaller, lighter, more nimble, more gear & crawl, etc. It was getting to the point where one tons weren't big enough for the full size crowd anymore and I thought anything more was overkill. (Disclaimer: But I still think any rig on Rockwell's or Portal axles is damming cool!)

I like to consider myself between the intermediate and hardcore level in ability, but I've been out of the game for a while with inoperable rigs. I'm hoping that the 4Runner will solve that problem if I ever get it back together.

I like everyone I've met here so far, and I look forward to picking people's brains about tech items. Pat has already been a huge help in many cases.

Besides, we're cheap and easy. ;)

The "club" is laid back, good mix of people seeking wheeling opportunities and those who just plain like the vehicles. I essentially "wheel" once a year...........they got me out twice this year. And like Lane said if you want a hardcore challenge in NE you've got to have access to private land.

Just for the sheer cruiser porn. I think that the club has the best grouping of Cruisers in New England.

I think the only thing missing from this years FG was a 45LV...................and that should be fixed soon.

Jim, wasn't it you that recenty picked up a Stout?

Coming from a background of limited wheeling exposure, I wanted to meet others into Toyota, able to help with questions, get together to wheel (Toyota's), and make new friends.

Seeing as it is a club, I was keen on the idea that there was opportunity to buy/sell/trade amongst other locals with Toyotas. Prospects of discounts with local vendors is cool too.

I joined this year, and for $20, figured it is really a drop in the bucket for the potentials listed above.

No regrets here.....(would like to get that "T" shirt sometime though).

;p....Will do Dave.

Maybe I need to fill you guys in a little bit about myself (not that I'm trying to sway your opinion of me or anything ;p )

My name is Roger Blank, some of you may know me as "The Beast" on other boards and forums. I've been in the sport, on and off for about 10 years now, more off due to broken rigs, but whatever.

I was one of the founding members and held the first office of Vice President of Freedom TrailRiders and was their NEA delegate for that time as well (approximately 3 years). I represented the NEA in 2006 as one of their delegates at the United 4 Wheel Drive Associations' annual meeting and conference in Oak Ridge, TN. I'm one of the founding members and sit on the Board of Directors for the Rhode Island Off Highway Vehicle Association. I also currently sit on the RI Trails Advisory Committee, which is responsible for recommending how RI's share of Federally funded Recreational Trails Program monies are spent. As you might have guessed I'm interested and as involved as I can be in the Land Use battle on many fronts. It usually takes more of my time than I should allot to it, and for that reason I've had to step back in some of my responsibilities. I barely have time or energy to work on my truck.

I'm curerntly a member of Jonfund, and my wife is a member of Northeast Toyota Crawlers (she has a stock 94 4Runner). I have 3 children from a previous marriage.

I'm passionate about everything I do, and I do it all out. I expect a lot of myself, but I hope that others are even half as passionate about things as I am, especially wheeling and our access to trails. Hopefully I can contribute something positive to Yankee Toys and I'm sure I'll get something in return from the club. I'm always willing to lend a hand or some friendly advice from my expereince, so don't be afraid to ask.

Thanks for your time. :)

Man, with a Bio like that and those skills I'll pay his dues just so we can keep him!

I'm thinking trail leader @ next year's FG...

   Warmest reception i've received after posting an intro....EVER!! :bounce::beer:

I'll be contacting Dave in a week or so to submit my dues. Rent's due this week.

And I look forward to attending next years FG (ASSuming that my truck is finally together and running and not re-broken  ), and have no problem volunteering where ever I might be able to help. :)

We look forward to getting you involved with the club, and utilizing (exploiting?) your land use skills and NEA interaction. :)

Don't feel bad about not having your truck running, my piggie didn't make it to FG after a summer of wrench turning. :( :(

I wouldn't throw my name around NEA circles too much, it might make matters worse for you! I think outside the box on land use items and share some pretty radical views with folks like Paul Regish. Yeah he's a bit of a dope, but he knows his chit in the land use arena.

Always an open invite at my place when wrenching. Although it looks liek the weather isn't going to cooporate much with me this weekend. I rent and have no garage, so I'm at the mercy of Mother Nature.

I just did a wheel and cut a few weeks back with Paul.
I thought he was a nice guy and he seemed pretty grounded, I wouldn't consider him as radical or a dope.
