I never thought I would ever trailer my 40, don't want her getting spoiled and all. But I am bringing a friend along to Rubithon this year, and I think he does not really want to ride in the 40 all the way up there. So he has asked me if I can find a trailer to beg, borrow, or rent for the week of the Rubithon.

Anybody have any suggestions, and or offers?

Please let me know.

Thanks

Don't do it Michael...you loose all the romance of the trip ... if your friend isn't tough enough for the highway let him spend his own gas and be a chase vehicle....it's worked for us several times

I agree Don, but it may be a good way for me to get through the republic of Dixon/Davis area with out a problem. Becasue for some reason that is always where I have problems with the 40, and the only spot I have ever had problems with it on the road.

The old cruisers just don't care for high speed freeway driving anymore...we started adding a little time to the trip to stay off the major freeways. I still hate driving across that valley...even on 20 but it's not as bad as that section of 80 you mention... Big Jim has had problems through there also I believe :D

It certainly does relieve some stress for the week knowing you have that tow rig waiting at the parking lot... good luck

For "stress relief", I recommend AAA Premier coverage. You get one 200 mile tow/yr and three 100 mile tows. It's 179 mikes from Tahoe City to Vallejo :)

Ross, I finally signed up for the Premier pkg on my way home from Moab last year after using up my one hundred mile tow...haven't used it since upgrading thankfully...but it certainly does help with stress relief...to a point ;)

Cheap way to get home from hollister, don't even need toll money. AAA Premier is the way to go.. hollister x1 (rear diff), pillsbury x2 (frt wheel bearings port and starboard on seperate trips) , and walmart x1 (snapped coilover)
