LOL...just kidding, but I do need your help...

I am installing my scangauge today and have no idea how to program it correctly....

It connects just fine and shows the basic info. I set the engine size. Thats about it.

I read the manual but am totally lost!

Any help would be great.

Maybe a FAQ and I can sticky it!

Thanks in advance!!

DTT

Hmm...what exactly do you need help with? There is not much programming necessary. You need to do at least one complete fill up to set the offset correctly.

I hate to say it but the manual pretty much covers everything.

You can follow these instructions (and I think I posted this else where on here as well) to set up a Distance to Empty (DTE) gauge.
ScanGaugeII - Add-A-GaugeT

I also fixed my HP gauge. I missed a 0 in the multiplier so it was off.

Before you fill, you need to set the tank size too, but other than that, JB is right...most of the programming is in the manual or on thier website. "XGauge" talks about programming the Distance to empty and the Horsepower. Unfortunately there is not much more for the Toyotas.

As I said on this thread https://forum.ih8mud.com/200-series-cruisers/261571-scangauge-install-lc200.html rumor has it that ScanGauge is trying very hard to release more Toyota codes. Soon we should have tranny temps, etc.

Well according to the devise I got up to 358 hp..... lol

I've hit 426 before, and JB said he has hit 1500...I would rely on the scangauge more for fuel economy info than anything else...not too sure the HP reader is correct.

1500??? Dang sounds like he got the good LC!

What were you doing when you hit 426?

Ummm it was me starting from a red light....so I was not really trying anything difficult.

I fixed this the other day. I had entered 4008*** instead of 40008**** or something like that.

Now I need to try a straight shot 2nd gear pull again. I have hit I think around 380 so it's probably accurate. Make sure you set your engine size and select petrol. When I fill up I think I am always about 9% something off, so make sure you offset your fillups as well.

...I've been off on fillups too...take the 5 seconds to adjust the gauge everytime you top off. You adjust how many gallons you put in and current price. Simple as that.

+1

I hit 438 HP coming home tonight.

Also, check the manual to adjust to your larger than OEM tire size...it will affect your DTE and MPG reading if you don't. It shows somewhere in the manual how to do it.
