Replacing the oil pressure sender on my 02, biblical rain until Sunday. What kind of mess am I looking at? Can this be done w/o losing oil or should I just perform an oil change? Thanks!

Maybe a few drops, just hold a rag under it. And have the new one ready to go in. No big deal.

I've got one that needs replacing but haven't looked around for it yet. Can you point me in the right direction?

Should be right on the oil filter housing.

About 1/4 cup of oil came out of mine. The filter drip rail, fan shroud and cooler lines made for a tight squeeze (watch your rad fins). Broke loose with a med 14mm box and then went to the stubby. Dash gauge is much happier. I ended up with about 1-2 threads still visible. I did not use any sort of sealant on the sender threads. On my 23yr old original there was a bit of something at the end of the brass on the sender that almost looked like a c-clip but whatever it was it crumbled in my fingers.

I was tempted to use aviation thread sealant but couldn’t find any info on that or a torque spec.
