The oil pressure gauge on my 2009 LC is pretty much always at 1/4. the gauge in my 2000 LX was always between 1/2-3/4. Just curious if others are seeing this same oil pressure reading on the 200s.

Mine too

I think mine's only at about 1/4 usually too. When I accelerate and hold it I know it goes up. I guess the purpose is just to know what's normal and when something may be wrong.

Mine on '10 LC is at 1/4 too.

08' same at 1/4 during idle, jumps a little towards the middle when I punch it.

11' same at 1/4 during idle, jumps a little when I punch it. Sounds like 1/4 is the norm.

Same. The dealer measured the pressure for me and it was OK. I was concerned as wife has 2010 Sequoia w same motor and pressure is always 1/2 (as are most gauges calibrated on every other car I have ever had).

I have a '14 LC200. For first 22,000 miles, gauge was usually at 1/2, for next two thousand miles mostly at 1/4, spiking up under acceleration as you all have described.

My 03 LX470 had the same issue. I replaced the sending unit and it cleared up. Now I have and 09 LC200 with the same issue. Seems Toyota has faulty sending units. Both my gauges move, they just stay lower on the scale.

Mine too is at 1/4

Maybe we need a PHOTO of several "normal" gauges, as this question comes up every month or two. :)

1/4 is normal for oil at temp. Cold oil pressure will be at ~1/2 with swings up to adjust for higher RPMs. You'll feel the idle RPMs adjust until it meets temp.

I don't think we need photos but, this is just simple fluid dynamics. Engine oil is in a high viscous state when cold and less viscous state when hot. higher pressure is required to push the high viscous oil vs. low pressure for less viscous oil.

What I meant to type was... Would be nice to have a photo on the FAQ page....so people could see that it's normal.
No...we don't need a photo here, but the question comes up so often that it might help to have a photo of the gauge that says, "Yes...this is normal." :)

I'll snap a photo and see about uploading it tonight. Maybe I can do both a cold start photo and an at temp.

I love that FAQ page! Thanks @Romer and team!!!

Here is mine. Running synthetic and a bit lower when it is colder outside. When it is at temp it is at 1/4.
