Oil leak question

Hi, all. I just checked out a used 90 (auto, 3 litre diesel from 12/2000. It appears to be the D4D engine.

The car is immaculate, expect I found some oil leaking underneath. Could this be as simple as prop shaft seal or something more ominous like the gearbox casing? Can anyone diagnose from this picture as I want to buy the car but this has me a little spooked.

That’s your transfer case. Is there an active leak- eg are you dripping oil on the pavement? Or is the case just greasy?

The case is just greasy. No oil leaking onto the ground.
