Okay I know that I'm not that active anymore but I have a question regarding oil leaks. I have developed a new leak coming from the front of the block around or below the water pump. I am looking for ideas or thoughts as to what it might be so that when I replace my water pump in the not to distant future I can handle this leak also.

Likely the front main seal?
And regarding the oil pan leak- I used the OEM cork gasket but still had to add some permatex around the corners and crankshaft dips for a good seal.

what kontiki said. Easy work. But long, long weekend of doing it...

dang - at this point I would much rather have hard work and a short afternoon

amen!
It took me roughly 2 hours to get to that radiator hose that resides under the AC condensor bracket. At that point, it's a good time to replace replace the water pump. When the water pump is out, its a good time to replace the side cork gasket and valve cover, and clean your throttle body... and so on, and so on and so on...
