I like the small one, really no need to put any more oil in it than it already takes.

How many seconds does it take to see the oil-pressure
marker move with your set up?

Typically about three minutes or about a mile of driving.

Real Men (TM) use only 20004s...! :)

... More filter area less crap in oil.

Nope, large and small have the same filter micron size, so filter the same stuff out. The larger filter has more capacity, can hold more junk before becoming clogged, but the 1FZ make very little junk, so it doesn't matter.

Most motor wear happens at start up. The larger filter has the potential to hold more air, taking longer to get oil to the bearings on cold start, so probably will have higher long term wear rates.

You guys would have enjoyed watching me take to filter off, I had four different types of wrenches, none of Witch were right. Nap&,acm@,carques#,or the local sh!t place didn't have the correct wrench. Regardless, I got thE fu(ker off, where have you guys sourced a socket for this fu(ker?

I never need a socket or anything but my hands to remove my oil filters. You must be from the school of "tighter=better."

Snug is just fine...you don't need to crank it on...therein lies your problem.

And BTW, you're hijacking the dude's thread.

I first look at the end of my right arm. If that one's missing then I go to my back up at the end of my left arm :flipoff2:

I like the larger more surface area for cleaning and acts to draw more heat out of engine. MIke
