oil dipstick tube o-ring replacement

hey y'all,

quick question about removing the dipstick tube. cant find anything in the fsm about it. think i may have forgot to download a section.

anyway, from the parts diagram below and visual inspection, it looks like the only thing holding the tube in place is that little bracket.

question is this: do i have to unbolt the bracket from the engine and pull it out with the dipstick tube (are the two attached)? or can i just pull the dipstick tube up and out? cant tell if the tube just clips into the bracket or is attached to it.

I have worked on Toyota motors and from past experience, you need to take off the bolt in order to remove the dip stick tube. From the diagram, it looks to be the same.

Thanks a ton! Saw a video for replacing the o-ring on 5.7 tundra. They had to remove the bolt, and also something else.

fortunately this bolt seems quite easy to get to. Finally a job where my fat fingers won’t get mashed up.
