Oil cooler flow direction?

Does anyone know if oil runs through the oil cooler before or after the oil filter? My oil cooler was rusty so I took it off to sandblast, and despite my best efforts, I got some sand inside it. I have since flushed it out over and over with gasoline and im 98% sure that I got all the sand out. So im wondering if the oil goes through the cooler before or after the oil filter?

I can only guess - but just clean it out assuming the cooler gets oil after the filter. Then no worries.
