Aesthetically most people wouldn’t notice a difference. The advantage is Longer rails and a 3rd mounting point. I have them as well, zoomed in from the picture I posted a few days ago in this thread.

I did the same. Bought a set off ebay for 250 new. Install took a couple hours. Now I can take out paddle board out and feel more secure do to the span.

@Killacaviar what model rack is that? I love the fit and need to snag one for our new to us LX570. I already have LC bars on the way, but they are black (wanted silver). Do you have any complaints about that big of a box on the factory bars?

I grabbed a free Lc200 rack locally and swapped it on, I have 5 total cross bars to use when needed. The only reason I did this was to add a large cargo box (Skybox18) and not have tailgate interference.
I've done aftermarket racks and roof top storage before...For me, right now, a cargo carrier is the best use of the space. There is nothing like driving across the country with two toddlers and having nothing in the truck except butts in the seats and a small snack bag. I hate clutter and I'm incredible sensitive to any interior/exterior noise. Right now, I couldn't think of a better suited kit that has less compromises.

I wheel with the box on and haven't had any issues with damage or movement, its sturdy enough. I keep a hilift and maxtrax mounted to the base of the interior of the box and just pile on bags, chairs etc as needed.

You guys running more than 2 cross bars, how does this work since the side rails are not straight? there's a whole thread of people using 80/20 to make their own cross bars. Which would be nice to have flat bars, but they aren't all on the same plane right?

Pretty sure the rails are strait, or strait enough anyways. You can slide the crossbars where ever in the channel you want. The OEM crossbars definitely have an arch.

Looks like a stock ram trx with 34.6” tires. Mine is a (very) mildly sensor lifted lx on p275 60 r20’s (32.9”) and 0.75” wheel spacers in high mode

Well...does the slot that the bars slide into follow that arc? Also, if using factory OEM cross bars, they have quite a bit of flex, so if you actually put something heavy on them, the weight will still get dispersed across multiple bars from them flexing to each other.

I agree if you are putting 8020 into the slots and not accounting for the arc, they are probably not in plane. But i know it's a pretty common mod. So maybe it doesn't matter much with the 8020 either. Someone who has done 8020 would have to chime in. The track does follow arc. Yeah it would still be fairly flat with the factory bar flex, but I feel like you're losing some of the advantage of multiple bars that way. The bars flexing the most are going to take most of the load. Very interested in the experience of the 8020 guys

Slee's aren't too bad to install. @tbisaacs covered it.

I did manage to tweak a Slee slider slightly. I think it might have shifted rather than bent and I might get around to re-aligning it. It's only enough for me to notice, but you can see the leading (right) edge is just higher.

Outer banks bronco with 315 70 r17 (34.4”) next to my lx570 on p275 60 r20 (32.9”) with 0.75” wheel spacers in high mode with a very mild sensor lift. In person it appears that the fender heights are similar…which means, body wise, high mode with 33’s is comparable to 35’s on an “oem” vehicle.

Didn’t get too many shots. But spent the weekend in the Collegiate Peaks. Here are some shots from the first wall going up to Grizzly Lake and coming down from Pomeroy Lake.

Such a fun historical area, there must have been an FJ Cruiser convention in BV. We spotted over 20 FJ cruisers on the trails lol.

New shoes trd BBS 18's for the LX. We've owned it for over 10 years, and it's been the best vehicle! My wife won't even give it up. Offered a new car BMW anything and she wants to drive it even more now! Go figure!

After a summer of travels, I am finally back home and was able to get up to the mountains with @TLC2013 and @100kiwi, and a brand new Bronco. We took the trail from Indian Springs up to Signal Peak. It was a beautiful, but extremely hot day.
