I'm looking forward to the next big snow so that I can try out the various combinations again. Have some maxtrax inbounds. The bog out is an interesting concept, especially since you can attach a rope/strap to reach an anchor point that is further away.
I haven't had to use mine in anger yet, but I set it up one day and ran a loop around the tire to check clearances with the brakes etc.
A decent alternative to get some winch-like functionality without the permanent weight. I don't want to suggest it is the same a a winch, as I'm sure there are some situations where wheel spin isn't a viable option, and of course, it requires an anchor point, same as a winch.

May also be not so fun to setup if all four tires are knee deep in mud

yeah, for sure. It's better than emptying the entire mud pit of mud with a shovel though. I also carry 4 trax, which would be the usual first line of defense, then escalate to the bog out, then summon help via the sat network.

Not sure if this has been posted before, but there is a modded LX for rent and I cannot recall seeing this on here, but surely it has to be. It has Dissent bumpers -

Actually its not a bad deal for somebody who is on the fence about buying one and wants to get some real world experience with one.

I've thought about putting mine on Turo, but the fact that who ever rents it will have no mechanical sympathy keeps that a thought only. WIth Covid I only need it weekends.

It’s currently listed in the classifieds.

Thanks. Explains what 10gal water tank they went with.

That is cool and definitely a good way to get in and test the water. After reading the fine print, looks like it’s probably $500-$600 for a weekend.

Even though that’s expensive, might even be a good way to test if you are the RTT type before dropping 2-5k on one.

Just got the methods 314's in 18" on Nittos RG 275/70/18. Quite a bit of rubbing by the front splash guards and front lower liner. Hopefully some more heat treatment and slight trimming will remedy it. Definitely a cushier ride than the 285/55/20 Nitto RG's that it replaced.

What is the offset to those wheels?

Pretty good looking wheels and the 17s are +25, ~26 pounds, and have a 3640 pound max load rating. That's a strong wheel to be so light.

Wonder if there is a typo on the Max load rating. If you look at the mini table from there site, they say only the 8-lug models have that Max Load rating. Of course that table also doesn't include any 25mm offsets either.

Yeah, it only showed up when I actually put in 2013 Land Cruiser as the vehicle, then it brought up this spec sheet. But if you look, there are also three options for 17" in the drop down:

And if you select the 17x8.5 with a zero offset it then changes the spec and shows the 2650 pound limit:

Do any of you have experience with your LX where the center diff and or the 4lo won’t engage? So frustrating

It’s not a LX specific thing. It’s a use it or lose it feature. You should be exercising the CDL and 4Lo actuators at least once a month. If they engage sometime but not always now, you should try engaging them multiple times (like10-15 times.. or until they work consistently, and then in future make sure you are activating monthly). There is also an excellent thread on R&R of the actuator.

They look great. Have you been able to clear the rubs?
I dont have them, I was just posting the info. Plenty of guys run down as low as +25 pretty easily. Personally, that’s the smallest offset I would consider for a non rock crawling setup.

Yes. No more rubbing. For the front splash guards, i just trimmed it up where there was rubbing. For the front liner, i used a heat gun, long stick and a water bottle to reshape the front liner. Really minimal amount of work.
