Should have grabbed me. I would have been glad to help! Gorge is a solid 4 but all trails are more difficult at night.

BTW- night rides by yourself are not only foolish but are also against park rules. Glad your friend was not hurt but it doesn't take much if an imagination to consider how this might have ended very differently...

Guys:
Just want to echo the comments of others. Was an amazing weekend and many thanks to "BOD" and significant others for the countless hours making this an organized and fun event for everyone. I enjoyed putting some faces with internet handles and getting to meet many of you in person.

While we certainly enjoyed the park and the good company of great friends and great food, we also used it as a launching point to venture out some. We climbed a mountain, we ate world class pancakes, we got up close and personal with exotic animals, the girls got pampered, we rode horses, we took in some amazing sights and we ate dinner and played card games on top of a mountain with some great friends. In short, Crawl #11 (our first) was a great experience for us (below is a little video I put together). Not many "action shots" of our "light wheeling" because my son was the camera guy.

Big shout out to Dominic from Valley Hybrids: The dude worked on everyone's junk, he welded, he grinded, he partied, he troubleshot electrical, he stayed up late and barely slept. Dude was on the ball.

THIS!

I got the opportunity to wrench with Dominic a couple of times, and got to help as he welded Doc's frame and steering gearbox back to together around 2 am (well after the band and party finished Friday night). Good times.

After drinking beers all week with labels I didn't recognize and names I couldn't pronounce, Bill finally reached into the cooler and pulled out a familiar one. A picture was required:

Well, a Jeep guy in our camp decided to night ride (alone) Saturday night with no winch. Ended up on Gorge off the Loop, which is marked a 3 on the sign and rated 4 on the map. Probably is a hard 4 or maybe 5 instead. Well, he rolled it. No winch and walked back to camp late in the AM.

Ray Towner and I used two winches to recover him on Sunday morning before loading up and heading out.
It was hard not to start drinking again after getting this out 2 hrs later as it was a steep and technical.

Used one winch to keep the front uphill and my winch to pull him over (both with snatch blocks off trees).
If you don't have a snatch block in your recovery bag, it's a must have.

Jeep broke his rear diff going up and also lost rear brakes. Probably more stuff broke but it's totaled for sure.
Ray winched him down the hill with snatch block to keep him under control.

We were on the road out of Hot Springs by 10:30 anyway.
Good news story as no one was injured but their pride and Jeep stories are always fun at the Crawl.

@Denmomdeb hates Gorge. She nearly rolled on time or at least it seemed like she was going over.
I nearly rolled over onto @jrob several years ago. I thought I was done for. I havent wheeled that trail since.

That'd be my brother, the "Jeep guy"....he's never been one to let the rules (or his older brother's sage advice not to go on a night ride) stand in the way of something he thinks will be fun! Big thanks to Jason and Ray for the assist!

Despite the roll over we all had a blast at the Crawl - which was a first for me. The Cottonland group did a great job putting this together and I'll definitely be back to this one.

We were glad to be able to handle it with our camp. You would have been a top person to dial, if we couldn't GIT errr done. No matter the situations faced on these trails by anyone there was world class talent representing at SCC to help out. Makes me proud to be a cruiser head and says a lot about our community.

Nice to meet you Patrick! Whoever that cantankerous man who traded for my sailor's knife at the raffle is.... poke him in the ribs for me as I owe him a few!

I think I got a blank "Crawl 2015" playlist disc. My truck wouldn't play it and my PC is asking me what I'd like to burn to this blank disc. I blame Spivey.

Thanks Georg for spotting Cooper
