Ok - nothing to do with my cruiser, but figured there might be someone who might know the answer on the board. I bought a used RV a couple of years ago up in Phoenix and drove it down to Tucson and parked it at a storage lot. It was some unknown model of cat diesel, with an Allison tranny, shoehorned into a mid-80's class A tandem axle. I am now in a position to actually be able to move it, and of course, its dead.
Thought it was a 3208 or 3208t, but when I popped the doghouse to check, I saw (see below) that valve cover. The area around it is pretty darn tight, and I have no idea where to find the plate that should identify it in any case without knowing the engine model. I know its a CAT cause its yellow, and the valve cover proclaims it as well. If anyone can at least narrow it down to what family of engine it is, that should let me know if its a 12v or 24v system, and how much PITA its gonna be. I had put stabil-d in it when I parked it, but I expect that mucho biocide and such in the near future once I can get enough juice to start it.
Is there a member who is a heavy diesel mechanic who can identify the mill, and set me on the path of bringing it back from the dead?
Thanks in advance, and apols for a non FJ-60 post.
