Anyone with a new LC 200 have their steering wheel off center from the factory. I got to drive the wife's LC on an extended trip this week and found that on long, super straight roads the steering wheel is off center enough that if you center it it tracks to the left and if you let the steering wheel go it tracks slightly to the right.

Obviously I'll have the dealer fix this but just wondering if there is a torrerance for this from the factory.

Thanks,
Anthony

Just a joke, don't take offence, but if the wheel wasn't off-center you would have to sit on the console. They put the wheel off-center so that you can sit in the drivers seat and steer from there.
On another note, in response to the "when do you get your oil changed?" thread, usually in the afternoon.

Okay, back to regular programming. What tires do you have? I found that the Michelin Latitudes that came on my '08 had a tendency to wander and track any grooves in the pavement. When I switched to the AT2's the truck drove completely differently.

Nice. You're like that smart as$ uncle at dinner that cracks jokes. THANKS!

The truck has Bridgestone. Wife has it now so I dont know which ones. It's not a wonder problem. Lets say the wheel should be a 12:00, it's between th 12 and 1. If one oclck is 30 degrees then I'm off between 5 and 10 degrees. (here comes the joke about telling time with my steering wheel.)

I found that on secondary roads with a crown the tires would be pulling one way or the other and you would be holding the wheel off centre to counteract the pull. Just something to check.

Wheel balancing, wheel alignment, wheel?

Had same story in my 96' Landcruiser Prado way back. Only after got Bridgestones tyres and even when a single tyre in the front were worn the pulling happened after a few Km!. This was before and after getting the steering wheel positioned in the middle.

You realize that when transporting the LC over seas, they tied down them down pretty tight in the ship. Of course there will be suspension settling. Just get it aligned at the dealership.

Dealership says alignment is within specs and wont fix, or dont see a need to fix the slightly off centered wheel.

CLAIM it's within spec.
