I recently aquired a '99 LX470, I'm looking at getting new tires in the next few months and would like to potentially change out the rims at the same time. I've never changed rims on any of my cars before, so this is new territory for me. Hoping to gain wisdom through the advice of those on this forum.

Currently, the truck has the oem 16" rims on it. I really like the look of the 18" oem rims that came on the '06 and 07 LX470, as well as the 18" or 20" rims that came on the 07 and newer Toyota Tundra. Will any of the rims from these newer trucks work on a '99? Anyone made the switch and have any advice / knowledge on what works and what doesn't? Thanks in advance!

Any 1998-2007 Land Cruiser rim will work 100%

2008+ Land Cruiser, 2007+ Tundra and 2008+ Sequoia rims will fit but chances are that the center caps (to cover the lugs and hub) included with those rims will NOT clear your LC's front hubs (rear hubs will be fine).

I used 18" rims from a 2007 Tundra and fitted them with center caps from a 2003 Land Cruiser 18" rim - the color is a perfect match and they fit the rim without modification.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the responses, this definitely is helpful. Its good to know that anything from 98 - 07 100s will work without mods, so I'll keep an eye out for these first. If I can't find anything within a reasonable time then I'll expand my search to the other Toyota models.

look in the classifieds here, there are at times over 5 different sets of 100 wheels for sale, and usually at least one. For tundra wheels, CRAIGSLIST CRAIGSLIST CRAIGSLIST! You can find great deal WITH TIRES!

The market here on ih8mud is about $200 for a set(4) of 16s and $300 for the 18s. There are also people wanting to swap 16s for 18s and vice versa so you might come across that here in the classifieds too.

I picked up tundra steel wheels for cheap (with tires, gave them away) and installed them on my 100.
