What size did Toyota send with the FJ60's? Where the

Market dependent. My BJ60 came with 235/75/15.
US my was spec'd with 235s

sent different sizes and brands through the years. I am think about
getting a set to have and maybe running them from time to time.

That sounds about right. I have the original unused spare under the truck. It is a pretty cool looking tire. It still has the little "hairs" on the tread.
I think Dunlop is all 60's came with, they are a Japanese Tire. The one that I have is an OEM Spare from my 82. It looks like it got used once for a spare and has a little overspray on it from when the rig was painted, other than that it is in excellent shape. If you are looking for one I'll sell it for $40 or so and I'll bring it up to pdx the next time I come up.

Anyone want the Dunlop Sno-Cruiser H78-15 bias ply tire? I've got the tire only that was the spare under the FJ55 when we got it. It still has the molding "tits" on the tread surface and no cracks! I'll never be using it. $50 + the ride and it's yours! If you're along I-5 somewhere I could even deliver in March.

I believe it is nearer to 235 than anything else. I don't know if it is bias or radial, I'll have to check when I get home. I can't imagine a bias ply coming on these trucks but nothing is completely out of question.

If there is no "R" for radial in the size string then it is a bias ply tire.
my 86 fj60 bought new came with American sizing HR78-15 tires by Bridgestone- model named "desert duelers".

Actually, according to Interco's site, their H78 is 28.6 x 8.1.

I remembered reading this thread earlier in the month... yesterday I was crawling underneath my 1984 BJ60 and it has a Dunlop bias ply tire in the size H78-15 (looks like the spare tire shown in the picture shown earlier). Only, it's not named a snow tire, some weird name I don't recall.
The metal plate on my driver's door jamb states that the tires size is H78-15 and to be inflated to 32 PSI (or was that 35?). In any case, I'm going to replace it - not a good idea to mix radials and bias ply together. Plus, it's so old, looks like the unused original!
I heard that H78-15's nearest radial equivalent is P225/75R15 or P235/70R15. Currently my BJ60 has P235/75R15 tires which are coming off. I changed my mind once again - this time it's 30x9.5R15 BFG AT KO's which will be roughly an inch wider and an inch taller than the original H78-15 tires. The spare tire looks tall and skinny compared to the other tires mentioned.
