I have a 2007 GX470 that has a 7 way wiring connector and what look to be mounting holes for a hitch, but no hitch. Unsure if this means it came with the tow package but a previous owner removed the hitch, or if all GXs came this way. Regardless, it looks like if I can find the right hitch, it will bolt right into the factory holes.
From what I can tell, the OEM hitch is part number PT22860540, though it doesn't seem to be stocked by the Lexus genuine parts websites I normally check (one says it was discontinued). Is that the right part, and all that I would need? Any other hitches to consider for actual towing that can take advantage of these factory mount points? A 5000 lbs hitch would probably be fine too for what I'm thinking of towing, but I figure I may as well go with something that meets the max tow rating (and who knows, maybe in 5 years I'll be wanting that extra capacity).
