Duralast is the brand AutoZone carries and it's $14. The OEM Toyota Fuel Filter runs about $40. Is there really a practical difference, or am I overthinking this?

OEM. 40 bucks once a year is worth it!

Cool - figured as much. Just seems like that's a part that you ought to be able to count on coming from any reputable source. Maybe I'm giving Autozone too much credit 🤣
You change your fuel filter once per year? It's been suggested before that the 80 fuel filter is a "lifetime" part. If you don't have reason to change it there's no need to. Certainly no Toyota PM interval. If it was meant to be changed out Toyota wouldn't have buried it and painted black.
No I don’t change it once a year maybe every 5 years or so. The point was even at a 1 year interval 40 bucks is not much to spend on a PM item.

Autozone/oreillys/NAPA/pepboyz EVERY SINGLE TIME
The Duralast one I bought many years ago was made in Chyna. Only ran it a year. I hated using it. Use OEM and have peace of mind. Dont shop at Autozone unless its for soap or wax. Their parts are junk!!!
