All,
I have been running 285/70R17 Toyo AT IIs on some 17x8 aftermarket Momo wheels.

I am debating on whether or not to go back to the Lexus OEM 16" wheels paired with 285/75R16s.

She sees the AZ desert trails about every other month, and the beaches of Mexico about 3xs a year.

So...285/70R16 on the Momos (again, though not Toyos) or back to 285/75R16 on the factory wheels (not Toyos)?

{Slee lift and diff drop. 4:88 gears. TC UCAs, 1.25" spacers. DT headers and cat back}

Thx

I would personally only use OEM for the cruiser. There are also some tundra wheels that look great on the 100's

I run OEM 16's on both my cruisers (have a set of OEM 18's for sale) with 295/75/16's to get as much sidewall as possible.

It's just a preference/opinion thing... I have had aftermarket wheels on other cars/trucks... But something about the Land Cruiser - any year Land Cruiser - they just look better with Toyota wheels. For me, it doesn't even have to be the OEM wheel - as long as it's Toyota. I think 80 Series wheels look good on FJ Cruisers. I like Tundra wheels on 100s. Maybe I'm so biased to Toyota, that using anything other than Toyota, feels like a step down. Again - opinions ;)

Maybe not the wheels in your pic, but I'd only run aftermarket authentic JDM wheels. JAOS, Epsilon, Bradley, Weds, Work, Rays... so many quality rare and discontinued Japanese wheels in 5x150 to choose from. That is unless you want to blend in with almost every other Land Cruiser owner on this forum. I'm sure the majority here will vote OEM.

IMO I'd only run stock wheels on a bone stock/mildly modified car.

I really prefer the look of a lot of the aluminum OEM Toyota wheels over aftermarket on a truck or an SUV. I'm running the tundra BBS wheels. If I went off-road more often I would probably have chose some 17 or 18" Toyota or Lexus wheels instead.

I got TRD Rock Warriors and ran those for a while. Love them. But I always missed my OEM 18s. I finally found a set and was able to purchase them.

Opinion: If you're going for an aftermarket set. Keep your OEM ones. Since you already have an aftermarket set. Then get some nice OEM 18s.

And, ^this^

My 18 OEM wheels went in the boxes my Tundra steel wheels came out of - then, tucked away in the attic... for that day I think "Why the hell did I take nice alloy wheels off the 100 and put on steel wheels" ;)

I am glad the majority is leaning toward OEM, as that is what i was hoping to hear. Now, as far as 295/75/16s, i know they will clear a LC with the body molding at mid driff. But will they clear an LX at full turn with the mall crawler cladding at the base of the body? See #1 attached? I have already clipped the fender with the 285s at full stuff. See #2 attached. thx S
