In the last two days my LC has developed an "issue". When starting from a dead stop (both when first started and sometimes when already warmed up) and I first press on the accelerator the engine feels like it wants to die. There is a pronounced lack of power but once I get the accelerator pushed down pretty well the rpms pick up fine and it accelerates as normal. Today it was much more pronounced. It will do it with the AC on or off.

I've checked the plugs and wires and all seem fine. This is my first Toyota so I don't know a lot about them. I'm not a gear head but do most of my own routine maintenance on it.

Any ideas what to look at first? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a failing fuel pump. The LC uses a two speed setup on the pump. When accelerating modestly the ECU will pull the fuel pump relay in to run at a full 12v. That is what happening when the engine finally takes off. Remove the relay and jumper the connection to 12v constantly. The relay is located on the inside of the fender near the brake booster. You could also measure the voltage sent to the pump and watch it as it tries to control the relay and match that to engine performance. You can pickoff the voltage of one of the pins on the diagnostic connector.
