Odd Sound under rig when hitting a bump and turning......

2001 LC 100....when i hit a bump while turning i hear what sounds like a large heavy spring that was stretched then let go....thwang or boing. I have crawled under and tugged around but found nothing loose. Could it be bad bushings in steering rack? Thanks

I had a similar sound (in fact, the spring thing is exactly how I described it) I spent a few months figuring out. Turned out to be the slider nuts were not tight enough, and the ubolts would shift in some, not all turns and bumps. If you have sliders, this may be worth checking.

How much do you have your T-bars cranked up? Could be your suspension bottoming/topping out.

Trunk Monkey - my torsion bars are not cranked very much. I think 19.25" from hub center to edge of wheel well....? In fact i need to brng them up a little because my rig looks like a 70's muscle car
