Anyone have a lufi xs monitor? Wondering how to get it to display trans temp. There is an advanced section where you can input data just not sure what to input. Cam anyone help?

Nevermind I'm going with scangauge 3. After playing with both the scangauge is much more user friendly and more professional looking at the expense of a bigger screen.

Have you considered a Bluetooth adapter and using OBDFusion with a phone or tablet? Possibly on magnet mounts? I have an iPad mini on mag mounts in my other vehicle using google maps offline and OBDFusion gauge display when needed. The ability to customize is unparalleled.

Will l need to have internet service on a small tablet if I go that way? How does the obd fusion get installed if the tablet isn't hooked to the internet? Sorry I'm kind of clueless to this stuff

You only need Internet access for the one time install of the app. You don’t need continuous Internet access. If your tablet cannot ever be on the Internet, the OBDFusion app won’t work for you.

Correct, only once to install the app, or periodically later to install updates if you feel it's needed.

The reason I run google maps on that tablet is their offline function is great. I can select maps to download ahead of time and google maps will access them for my driving around without an internet connection.

Point is, this tablet only gets a connection when I bring it inside for updates. Typically every few months.

Also I should point out, if you want mapping and plan to use an apple product you need to find a "cellular" version.. the regular wifi ones don't have the GPS antenna. You don't need to actually run a cellular plan.. but only those tablets will allow mapping.

All of this is beside the point, if you don't need constant monitoring you can just use your smartphone and connect it to the bluetooth module when necessary.

Do you a brand that you would suggest? I'm looking for a trans-temp monitoring feature.

I have a Carista and it works well enough. I’m sure newer and better ones have come out in the years since it was released though.

One reason I do this specific adapter is their app is pretty useful for some other functions if I find myself needing it on a roadtrip or something, and I don’t have my techstream computer with me. Including the ability to program TPMS IDs into the vehicle if it is needed for some reason.

But it is also just a standard Bluetooth OBD adapter, so OBDFusion and some other apps can use it as the connection so they can do their thing.

Edit: plus I know from experience Carista app can read and reset SRS codes. Unsure what other modules it can handle but between this and TPMS (which most software won’t touch) I consider it sufficiently capable to get me out of most situations. This thing lives in the vehicle in case an evap code locks me out of 4Lo.. a quick reset should get me in that range if needed.

If you have an iPhone you definitely want a BLE model (I can't remember the caveats for Android users, but at one time there was some). Either the Carista or the newer Veepeek models are good cheap options. I have a Carista now and bought the newest Veepeek BLE+ (well 6 months ago) and the Veepeek was not any faster or more useful than the Carista, and as @bloc says, the Carista comes with its own benefits. Carista isn't available on Amazon anymore, so have to buy it through some other channel.

That’s a great point. I’m on iOS and have no idea whether certain adapters work with other platforms.
