Wait till you have wee ones. Fishing will become a dirty word.Now mine are bigger, they all like fishing and usually outfish the old man.
We do have a little one...she's now 17 months old. I'm just waiting until she's less of a handful, and then I'll probably be able to go on multiday trips again. When she's old enough to enjoy camping, then the whole family can go. I taught my wife how to flyfish when we were dating, but I doubt she even remembers how to cast.
I'm optimistic about next season...I'm going to be dusting off the spey rod and 8wt for salmon and steelhead this year, but in my heart I'm a trout fisherman.
