I love the chrome detailing around the turn signals. If that fit my '88, I would consider swapping out just that part, though I'd want to keep the signature amber lens.

Hey dude I just found your build thread! We still need to get together and talk parts. I'm having the tranny flushed next week. Have some suspension questions for you.
 
The 77 Series owners here in the States could all sit around one small table. :)

But they have those Naugahyde covered bench seats that hold more people than a Blue Bird school bus.
 
Well at 240000k the water pump decided to let go. Looks like they changed the Tbelt @ 170 the pump is original. Man i hate lazy. Since we are in it redid the radiator with a new cor and all cleaned up for about $350. All new hoses, water pump, thermos stat ordered also timmmng belt and the fixings.... every thing on the shelf in japan and available within the week except the top radiator hose. Thanks Mr. T for making one for me just have to wait until the end of the month.

That's their time to die. Ive had 2 go on me at 250k and I have seen another 6 or so.
 
So question for all you Okinawa guys. Ive got a 92 HZJ73, super solid power train, but im afraid the rust issues are going to be more than I can handle. I bought it from up north, Aomori to be specific, and I think the snow pretty much destroyed the back end. Where did you guys all source your HZJ77s from? Know somebody local? Buy sight unseen? Looking for any help you may have.
 
Mine came from main land from a small town 30ish km west of Tokyo. Rust was minimal. Sight unseen. I think the rust in Okinawa is worse then north main land. Being a small island you can't escape it. At least up north it's not every day of the year.
