I have a 1984 toyota 2L in my 1987 Suzuki samurai long wheelbase. I need to turbo charge it. I bought a factory 2LT exhaust manifold from the dealership but I cant find the Toyota CT20 turbo to bolt on that manifold anywhere. Does anyone know if another turbo (model or manufacturer) will easily fit that manifold? Im running out of ideas here.

Marty Ham in Alberta use to call me and email about building a turbo kit for 3bs, I remember him saying he had a couple of CT 20s along with engines.

Marty has gone back to what he did before, i was chatting with him about a month ago when a buddy of mine bought a old truck off him...
CT20 should be availabe new still from Japan...
BTW, nice rig there. that engine fits like a glove...

Ben Olsen put a t-03 from a 300 Z on his 2L (the artical is mistaken, it says "diesel 22R") You could drop him a line to see how its done. Seems to me like way too much turbo for that motor but it really works on Ben's Zuker.

I had a 2lt manifold with a turbo that I sold with all my spare 2LT parts. I'll see if I can track the buyer down and see if he'll part with it.

Thanks Bruce. Im not looking for tons more power. She's low geared enough to do anything I need. Im just looking for that extra little something that the turbo will give me at highway speeds.

I wanted to go CT20 because I wanted to keep it as simple as possible.

Turns out I didn't sell it. The ct20 t-charger has a crack around the wastegate which will limit boost but might be repairable. The manifold looks good. I'm really not sure if it is from a 2LT or 2LTII. Tom, can you tell from these pictures if it looks like the one you got from the stealership?

You can have it for a fraction of what I've got in it.

I have a used one on hand. It is bolted to the 2L-TE and that is bolted to the wrecked Hilux Surf. Drop me a note if you want the front cut.
