Sorry. I should have said 11 o'clock looking at the t-case from the front.

I guess it depends on what time zone or state of mind one is in :D

Hey I know I'm a little late to this party.. Must be that I'm on 'ISLAND TIME':D

Anyway, I had a similar situation as you did when I purchased mine from the PO. I was going to tear into the locker actuators, but someone on MUD told me to check the actuator on top of the TC first.. easy enough and won't cost you anything. Anyway, I unscrewed the actuator (27 mm? I think I used a big crescent wrench) from the tcase pulled it out and depressed it a few times.. it was slightly sticky and gummed up. I lubed it up a little with some gear oil I had laying around.. I think some motor oil or WD40 would be fine too, until it depressed smoothly. Put it back in, hooked it up.. and viola! After a year of researching finally got my CDL and f/r lockers engaged!

That would be the switch, not actuator. The actuator is next to it.

Ahhh. Yes that's right Jackson.. I had the the two switched up in my head. But that's how I fixed my dilemma. ..

Hey all... thanks for the replies.

My replacement switches came in and I was able swap out the C-Diff, F-Locker, and R-Locker.

The C-Diff came right up and I could hear it engaging, it looks like replacing the switch was the fix. The F/R-Lockers I cannot test at this time as I'm doing a custom carpet job on my rig and everything is pulled out right now. I'll test it soon and post back up.

In the pic the C-Diff switch has some translucent oil, F-Locker seemed to have some grease muck on it, and the R-Locker was pretty much crusty. I wasn't sure if any of this was normal or not.

One of the challenges I had was finding a tool in my current box to remove the C-Diff switch from within its tight space. Enter Harbor fright tools. I found a nice 1/2" stubby ratchet wrench and a right sized 27mm socket. It was a prefect fit.

Here are the links to the tools -

Hey all - Since my last post I was able to get the CDff and lockers working, however 2 month later I ran into this issue...
I posted this in 80-Tech forum, but thought I would post it here as well...

What I have - 96 TLC FZJ80, Factory Lockers, and 7PIN Mod CDiff Switch

History -
CDiff would not engage in 4L
I recently replaced the CDiff switch and it started to work properly when in 4L, disengage in 4H
I installed the CDiff Switch but didn't do the 7PIN Mod
Drove the TLC for <500 Miles without issue, until the issue stated below started this week.

** Keep in mind Flickering and Flashing are not the same, this issue is Flickering **

Issue -
While driving the ABS / CDiff lights came on with the CDff light flickering
I pulled over, turned off the TLC, restarted but had the same reuslts
I drove it home <5 Miles, no wheels chirping and it didn't seem like the CDff was engaged
While driving the CDiff Light will flicker sometimes going to solid
ABS Light will come on and off but not flicker

What I've done in this Order -
Removed the connector to the CDiff Switch and turned on the TLC - No change
Short the CDiff Switch Connector, try in 4H and 4L, power on / off, backup, go forward - No Change
Complete the 7PIN Mod for CDiff, turn on TLC, try in 4H and 4L with/without the CDiff Switch enabled, power on / off, backup, go forward - No Change
Drive it in Figure 8's in 4L on dirt - No Change

Results -
So far not matter what I've tried I still get the same result -- ABS and CDff Light On with a little flicker

Next Steps -
I'm thinking maybe this is a short due to the fact that I've disconnect the CDiff Switch and the lights still come on.

Anyone have any other suggestions?
