I have a stock 200 series and have never been off-roading. It’s just been a city driver… I want to take my boys out off-roading and will be a complete novice. Are there any good trails near DC/Northern Va anyone here might recommend? It’s supposed to rain this weekend. Is it a bad idea to go out as a noobie in the rain?

Thanks for any tips!

@jay96318 - If you just want something close to the DC area to get the tires dirty, try Peter's Mill Run trail. It's out near Front Royal, VA so you can be out and back for a good day trip. Again...easy, but fun to get offroad. On the south end is where the Tasker's Gap trail area is. This is more for ATVs and has narrow trails. Peter's Mill Run can be run with your 200. I think it's about 9 miles long. You can always just turn around and do an out-and-back on the trail. Here is a link : Peter Mill Run - USFS

Have fun and be safe with your boys!

Thank you! I found out there is a DC/MD|VA group on here too so I’ve been reading those threads as well. Peter Mills also what several there recommend. We’re going to try it out!

Thanks again for the suggestion.
