This is my tentative plan for this weekend. Decided to post up and see if anyone wants to hang out.
@Rambo Penguin and myself are going to camp out on Friday in the tobacco roots somewhere out near sureshot upper or lower lakes. Location TBD. That general area. Leaving Bozeman Friday round six or so.
Saturday: Meet at 10:30ish and the upper sureshot lake. Lots of space for a couple or more rigs to park and hang out. We are going to have a bring your own lunch/BBQ and leave it as an open invite to hang out. Like don’t expect anyone else to feed you but maybe bring extra to share. I’ll be making moose burgers and I’ll have my skottle grill and something else that’s super healthy lolz.
Hang out and eat until about one and then head up the trailhead.
North meadows/ twin lakes: this trail should take us most of the afternoon. According to @JohnnyOshow22 we should make it to the lower lake. The snow probably has backed off enough. This is not an easy trail. One of the roughest in the area and contains the roughest section I know of but we won’t go that way, at least I’m not planning on it. Worth the effort though, the lakes are an amazing views. Be done in time for dinner in Bozeman. Back to the trailhead by 5-6.
Minimum suggested equipment: you absolutely need sliders. I was told 33s and 3 inches at a bare minimum but did it with no lift and 33s and was dragging over all the rocks. There is a pretty decent gatekeeper so you’ll know right away if it’s for you. Locker is not always necessary but helps. Winch would make others job of pulling your ass out a lot easier. Lolz.
This is not a 406 cruisers affiliated event. Just friends hanging out in the woods. You accept your own risk and liability by showing up.
