I guess we are talking about crooks who drive 66 VW beetles
OUCH.....the smart crooks would drive the 1971 "Super Beetle"....it was even faster.
71 super beetle could do 140km/h or 80 mph 1600cc dual port
66 beetle with king pin front end could do 71-72 mp/h 1200cc
1980 FJ 40 cruiser could do 140km/h also
In 88 I had a 65 beetle 1641cc I also had a 1980 FJ 40 . The cruiser had way more torque. It would be neck to neck if I was racing myself. From what I remember is ; the cruiser didnt like the first corner @speed.
