So I know the older LX had the RSCA button, but the panel where it used to be is blank on mine. And there is no mention of the button in any of the documentation, that I can find.

Anyone know anything?

No off switch now. Here's a long thread on that.

It should turn off automatically with 4 LO engaged. If your roll angle is that extreme I'd wonder why you didn't have 4 LO engaged anyways?

Does that “should” mean “I think Toyota should design it in such a way...” or does it mean, “Toyota has said they designed it in such a way that it should..”?

I do wonder what the threshold for curtain airbag triggering really is. Whether it’s angle only...or if it requires some level of side impact with the angle (like when your sides impact the ground). In other words...could a slow lean-over into a soft bank mud bog trigger it, or does it take a hard thump...

Anyone know? Just curious.

I would think that there would be some sort of accelerometer or something that can determine a certain tip. But that’s just a guess..

Right. What I’m referring to tho is a slow tip into a bank, or other obstacle. -Whether it requires JUST the tipping, or a jolt too.

It talks about the requirements for the trigger in the manual. I can pull it up later.

Mine just mentioned deactivation for extreme off-roasting, but didn’t describe the actual triggers or thresholds for triggering. No biggie. Just curious.

Saw a video on the internet the other day with a GX460 I think, he was just leaning a bit too far over and they all popped!

Yikes.

I would expect that the manual would change if deactivation is no longer possible and the algorithm behind the trigger has changed (I think it should if you cannot deactivate)

Received a pretty lame (surprising?) reply from Lexus:

"I performed some research on your behalf, and I can confirm the 'RSCA Off' button is no longer equipped in LX models, starting with the 2018 line-up.

The switch was designed to only be used during extreme off-roading to prevent the side curtain airbags from deploying accidentally.

If you frequently use your LX for off-roading, you may find relief in knowing the side airbags do not generally inflate if the vehicle is involved in a rear collision, if
it rolls over, or if it is involved in a low-speed side or low-speed frontal collision. (Page 48 of the 2018 LX 570 Owner's Manual).
We certainly appreciate your inquiry and interest. You can sign up for the latest updates..."
