I’ve got a 2011 lx570 with somewhere around 80k miles.

My rear ceiling air conditioning fans stopped working today.

The front, cool box, and center console rear vents are blowing fine.

The ceiling vents stopped.

Is there a button or something I might have pressed to turn them off? I’ve got the controls for the rear at max fan speed and lowest temp setting. I’ve done the same with the controls in the dash.

I’ve looked for a fuse for the rear ac fan but I haven’t come across one in my diagrams.

Anyone know where the blower motor for the ceiling vents is located?

My rear ac has been relatively warm since I got the vehicle. I assumed it was normal.

But the internet says it’s a common issue and that sometimes it’s because the refrigerant is low.

So I put a cheap gauge from a refrigerant/free on bottle in it and, when on the coldest hardest blowing setting, the gauge looks like it’s barely “in the green.”

Anyone know if I’m on the right track? Like potentially the ceiling evaporator isn’t getting enough pressure to tell the blower motor to go? So I’m not getting any air flow through ceiling vents?

Anyone know what the proper pressure for the ac system should be?

Mine was blowing warm in summer and I just had it evacuated and recharge at the dealer. Blows cold and warm now but the fan is weak. I can hear it blowing but flow isn’t strong.

After giving maybe 2 to 3 1 second bursts of free-on, the next day the ambient temperature was slightly cooler and the rear ceiling vents are blowing, albeit not nearly as cool as the front. I’m thinking it may be that I was slightly low on free-on and this was causing, on a hot day, the ceiling evaporators to not get cool enough to signal the blower fan to engage. If the problem persists I will likely take it to be serviced by an air conditioning technician to evacuate the system of all refrigerant, measure the amount of refrigerant and compare it to what is recommended in the field service manual. Does anyone know a reliable place to purchase a digital field service manual?
