I'm just checking that the 2011 LC does not need an IPOD adapter. It plugs in VIA USB port in dash or VIA bluetooth (no charging). This is what the dealer is telling me and I want to be certain before I take the 2.5 hour drive home. It's not listed as an accessory anymore.

Thanks

Hi Arich

I got my LC 200 yesterday.

There is a USB Port for USB Sticks - NO ipod integration.

You could link the Iphone to the CarMultimedia via Bluetooth - and you will be able to swith Songs on the Steeringwheel - but could not Charge the Iphone.

During connect to Carmultimedia you could NOT use Bluetooth Free Speaking.

It gives a Ipod Kit you can order additionally - if it will works with iphone 3 or 4 - dont know..

I dont get it, Here is what is listed on Toyota:
Voice-activated touch-screen DVD navigation system [1] with integrated backup camera [2], JBL Synthesis® AM/FM 6-disc CD/DVD changer with MP3/WMA playback capability, 14 speakers including subwoofer, XM® Radio [3] with XM NavTraffic® [4] (includes 90-day trial subscriptions), auxiliary audio jack, USB [5] port with iPod® [6] connectivity, hands-free phone capability and music streaming via Bluetooth® [7] wireless technology

Does these mean you use your apple jack and plug it into the USB???

If you go into Toyota Land Cruiser accesories. Toyota.com lists an interface kit.

This is the kit for the glovebox which also cancels out Sat Radio. Its either on or the other.

The USB on the dash uses the typical ipod cord and allows for full IPOD integration and preserves SAT Radio.

Is this correct?

USB on the dash, doesn't give you full integration. From what I heard from the dealer, the glovelbox kit gives you the ability to control from the steering wheel.

I was waiting for my free 3 month SAT subscription to expire before installing this. If you happen to get it installed anytime soon, let us know if it's worthwhile.

As I was purchasing mine, I was able to negotiate the remote starter and the side molding where at dealer cost with free installation, this was even after final price was negotiated. Just remember, until you sign those documents, you still have the upper hand.

Looking back, should of installed the IPOD integration instead of remote starter.

I will try it tomorrow - sounds interesting :D

I took delivery of my 2011 in March. My previous LC was an 08. I used the aux. plug in below next to ash tray to plug in IPOD. All forward and backward was activated on IPOD. Volume was adjusted on Steering Wheel/Volume button on dash. With the 2011 I can advance or go back and handle volume issue via Bluetooth. What other issues would you like to have control over? I am not aware of being able to access Playlists, Artists, Genres by steering wheel input. I will tell you that to the best of my knowledge and experience my 08 did not allow synching of my IPHONE contacts with Nav.System. I had to input manually all phone numbers, which I did not do. My 2011 does with one touch! There is no physical difference between 08 and 11 other than this item and to the best of my knowledge a few more H.P.. But, the synch with IPHONE is really nice.

arich - youre right.

USB Cable does the Job, you see the Tracks on the Touchscreen - nice nice nice

Also charging works - perfekt solution!

USB adapter work perfectly with the apple USB adapter. Dont know anyone would buy the ipod adapter now unless you simply wanted to hide the ipod. Is there a way to tap into that USB port and hide the USB and ipod elsewhere?

Don't know, i only need it to connect my iPhone - and the iPhone i dosnt want to hide.

Grats to your car - plz show us pics!
