ive been trying to determine if there is he same heater tee issue in the GX470 as there is in the LX and LC 470. I searched all the parts catalogs to find anything that was a tee and couldn’t find anything.

To confirm my findings I called a local Lexus Dealer and talked to the parts guy. He looked it up and confirmed the LX470 has the tee for the cooler lines that go to the back and he confirmed the GX470 DOES NOT. The GX only has straight pipes with zero tees.

If anyone wants to add info, please feel free.

Ah “the heater tee fix” problem that runs rampant in the 470 threads. Since we have the same engine I thought we would have the same issue. If they don’t fix the 2 heater tees they break and crumble sometime after $130k miles that is. I put the dollar sign in front of that by accident but it’s appropriate so I left it. It can cost big bucks if they don’t catch it before it breaks and blows a head gasket. Anyway, we don’t have to worry about all of that since we don’t have the same heater tees in our vehicles thank the lord!

GX heat is ducted under the front seats. Rear AC only

Thanks for looking into this! Having had a 100 series before, it was one of those nagging thoughts I've been having while baselining my new to me GX470.

Exactly - it’s this nagging feeling that rises up every once in a while!

Thanks! I’ve been searching the threads and almost ordered some tees for my GX470! Should have looked under the hood, but it’s snowing outside so I was lazy...:)

I found that out the hard way by ordering some before I even bought my 120... Then I asked the dealership to install them and they haven't tell me the car doesn't have Tees

So funny! I ordered some too but have a friend with a LC100 so I gave them to him and reminded him to do his. He still hasn’t!
