No Dynamic Cruise Control?

I just test drove a 2013 LX570 and it didn’t have the dynamic cruise. I didn’t realize this was an option.

Does it affect the resale or are there any concerns?

I copied and pasted from my 2013 lx spec sheet. It seems the PCS is part of the luxury package.

Radar cruise was optional on the LX from 08-15, and it's more common on the 13-15 but certainly isn't on all of them. It wasn't available on the 08-11 LC, but all LCs got it starting in 13. The 16+ version in both the LC and the LX works much better than the earlier system (I've had both and the newer one is far smoother and more seamless), but it is a nice to have feature regardless.

It's a kind of neat feature - if a little freaky - trying to trust it at first driving this big truck...
But I never use it when towing. Though I'm very old school (and learned to drive in under powered cars) so I like to use inertia when I can. This device does not understand it at all!
I never compared fuel economy w/o but doubt it would save me gas, the way it hunts for gears and likes to keep the speed. Unless I set it at 55, lol.

Where I live, I rarely use cruise control. It's definitely nice in less congested and flat areas. I've never liked cruise control on hills or winding highways. Of course, it's also useless in the DC area.

My wife's 16 CRV has adaptive cruise control, but I usually forget about it. It's pretty nice, but I have to make sure to get in the passing lane before it starts adjusting my speed to the slower car. I definitely like lane keep assist. I've never experienced the collision avoidance brake system, but I'm sure I'd worship it if it ever saved me from a collision. I typically pay attention to what's in front of me though.

Of course my 09 LC has none of these things, but it's my first vehicle with park assist (forget what it's called). I actually love that! Gives a bit more confidence when trying to turn into a tight parking spot.

Not really, tested it, and the ‘18 gets worse mileage because it’s always unlocking/locking the TC or shifting around to maintains a set speed.

Instead of maintaining an RPM with your foot.

As someone who just searched used 08-14 LX's for months, the things that are the big options to look for are the upgraded stereo (Mark Levinson), radar cruise/pre crash detection (come togrther) and luxury package. Rear seat DVD too.

Stick an iPad or two on the seats and still save $1000+...

Sounds like it works about as well as cruise control. Which is to say not good at all. ItsI abrubt and very aggressive in how it goes about reaching target speeds, hills, etc. Feels like the throttle is being worked by a teenager. Or 5th grader.

My interest in the Dynamic system is all about the left lane sloths that regularly troll on wide open Texas highways.

I was going to make a comment about pulling in behind you and then I remembered that there is no vacuum behind your trailer. Damn
I use the cruise a lot. When I am towing I set it back to the second distance and the closest when not towing. Driving home after 6 hours hauling my trailer and it started rain and the wipers came on and a little later the headlights came on. I pulled out of the right hand lane and the truck sped up to 10 km/h over the speed limit as set and when the traffic on the other side came around the corner the headlights dimmed until they passed. It is so much more relaxing when all you have to do is steer and concentrate on the road.
I also use the cruise to avoid speeding tickets by setting it at a speed that won’t get me busted.

Our 4 and 2 year old love it. A few years from now it wont have the same appeal but it is great for us now. It wasn't a must have for us because of the other options like you say, but it was only a few hundred more than others we were looking at without and not bad to have.

Ya, I am definitely see how helpful it is...especially with little ones and super long drives.

You’re not missing much. I have a 13 with the radar cruise and I turn it off a lot and just do normal cruise. It’s just too sensitive even on the closest setting and it downshifts too much to maintain speed. It will hit the brakes even when there is a decent gap in traffic. It’s like how a timid grandma would drive.

It’s nice on the open highway with light traffic but otherwise I hardly use it.
