While in the process of diagnosing my acceleration hesitation/stall/backfire, I found that the distributor does not have a condensor. This whole ordeal began after I had a new thrush muffler was put on. Before that, the 40 ran fine. The day I picked it up, it ran like crap. I then rebuilt the carb and have the same issue. Now I am starting with basic tune up stuff. From best I can tell, this distributor should have a condensor, agree?? I also included a pic of the coil that PO put in, he gave me the original in a box. Any thoughts? Thanks, Matt

No, there is not a distributor mounted condensor used on the pictured 75-77 semi-electronic ignition system.

The truck has been upgraded from the stock vacuum retard smog distributor to a vacuum advance non-smog distributor.
