Almost every single headlights thread about the Taiwanese brands or Anzo headlights on the LX470 turns into 20 people talking about how their HID retrofits are superior.

I have a simple question for the people who have bought this headlight or similar style (pictured), everyone else who has HID retrofits, or OEM headlights, I already know how you feel. You're probably right. I just don't have the time nor budget to dive into that upgrade.

The question: The ad image shows the "turn signal" as that light at the end, and the sidemarker lights as those three little guys above that. Is this image misleading? Whose wired these in, and whose wired these in as the "turn signals" (normally found next to the fogs)?

It is misleading you are correct.
The LX turn signal does not fit in there, only the side marker. With mods I guess it will but a bit unnecessary

If someone has done LED's replacements for the low beam on these type of headlights please post as I am yet to find a solution that doesn't allow water to get into the headlight housing.

Thank you!

I bought these from Auxito, H1s and H7s, but I have no idea how it'll work out.

Did you get these? How are they working out and what year did you put them on?

They weren't bright enough. I went and got these Amazon ones instead (I shortened the URL): https://shorturl.at/sxX14

Description: SEALIGHT H7 LED 18000 Lumens, 500% Super Brightness 6500K Cool White, 1:1 Mini Size, No Adapter Required, LED Fog Light Bulbs, Plug and Play, IP67, Pack of 2

Not sure how it's gonna be long term, but they fit inside and it's sealed, no modification needed. I haven't needed to drive at night for more than an hour with these on.

If you're talking about the actual headlight housing, yes I got the Taiwanese manufactured ones. It's fine. I did have a problem when I had an LED in the high beam socket, the LED wouldn't actually turn off, and the other side it wouldn't come on. Definitely some electrical stuff going on with the whole DRL/High voltage, so I just went a stuck a halogen in there and it's been fine. I rarely use my high-beams anyways. I'm eventually going to snip a wire to disable the DRL function, and I'll just flip on the halos to act as the DRL.

I think eventually when I have all the maintenance items taken care of, I'll go and revisit the headlight situation and opt for some retrofits.

I didn't like using led bulbs.

During winter , the leds doesn't seem to generate enough heat to keep condensation out. I ended buying regular bulbs which seemed to be better for icy and wet conditions.

The lights are not as nice as auto focusing lights on modern cars but they are way better than the
2001 oem "driving by candle light' vibe.

I am thinking of pulling the trigger on these, is the turn signal plug and play or do you have to modify something for the turn signal function?

I have since swapped out these headlights for some retrofits.

I think you'd have to do a turn signal mod (splicing from the bumper turn signals) to actually get these to work. There's plenty of forum stuff on here in regards to that, but I'm not sure if anyone has done it with these Taiwanese headlights.

Right now, my turn signals are 3 bullet LEDs on my front bumper.
