It was brought to my attention that the 2008 doesn't have AHC..Is this correct and if so, I wonder what the logic was to discontinue it ? Has ssome other electronic gizmo replaced it ??

They dropped it from the LC The LX560 has AHC... which is one reason i am going to wait and see where the pricing from the LX comes in compared to the LC. I tow a 6500# boat and i really want load leveling (and no, nothing replaced AHC on the LC.)

Well, I think that has done it for me as far as a new LC goes..There are just too many things about the 200 series I'm not impressed about. I'm just not a Lexus kind of person either so the LX isn't even a consideration. Too much "fluff" for my taste. Looks like my new SUV isn't coming the Land of the Rising Sun...Sayonara Toyota !!

Not interested in a RRS..I'm most likely getting a RR s/c or maybe a G Wagen. Anyway, I know where you are headded with all the anti Land Rover venom. Ive had more problems with my 100 series than any Land Rover I have ever owned. I have plenty of cars and if it is in the shop, so what, I will drive something else in the garage !! I like LR's and LC's , personally though Rangies have a certain panache that no Cruizer will ever have. I don't do any hard core off roading anymore anyway, I grew out of doing that stuff years ago. I know all about the quality control problems Rovers have had, but I have had 4 LR products and they have all been very good vehicles. This new LC looks pretty horrible IMO. Even you have stated previously that you are not too enthusiastic about certain aspects of it. I guess my only other choice would be to get an '07 LC/LX, but that probably isn't going to happen.

I learned that they omitted the electronic extras because the LC is optimized for absolute durability in the field. The LX570 will have more extras and be more electronics enhanced.
The new G wagen is horrible. If you think the 200 "sold out", that's nothing compared to what Mercedes did w/ the "G".
I can see tho, that towing might be an issue but maybe the LC has firmer springs to help compensate or adj shocks? dunno.

I guess the GL is the big one, I guess it's an addition and not replacemnt? well 7-8 pass lux suv is the market segment- so whatever falls in there is what the 200 is going against.
GL is the comparing model. It's on-road designed. No off-roading. Reliability has beern standard last 10-years MB.....horrible.
The new LC has KDSS. I saw the 08 in person today and it looks pretty good. Understated as usual. The same look the 100 had back in 98. Weird to think the next LC will not be released until 2016!

The irony to this is that right now I have 2 Land Cruisers and you are still attacking me !!! Obviously there is something I like about them !!! I just personally think the '08 LC is not very attractive and there are things about it I really don't like.

I don't get it. I thought AHC was part of the "undesirable Lexus fluff?"
Or are they holding out on the LC like they did with the 100? IIRC the LC100 was only offered with AHC later in it's life cycle vs the LX470 who got it immediately.
Might be a good bet to hold off for 2-3 years on gettiing a LC200 to see what they enhance and add to it. Also gives them time sort out the gremlins given Toyotas latest round of new model releases. Additional benefit will be the aftermarket goodies that will hopefully be available.
Anybody have detailed specs on the LX570s suspension setup?
yeah could be marketing war between Lexus and Toyota to differentiate the brands... afterall, they will be very similar indeed.
Sitting in the LC200, I can def see they left room for the LX570 to be more 'Lux-cush" rather than "sporty-lux"...
