Gday all,

Just took my BJ74 for a spin out the back and found i have no 4wd activation...
I got bogged!!!!

Nothing using the Hi4 button OR using the Lo4 Selection,
Could this just be a vacuum leak? Even though i cant get 4x4 Low?

Thanks

OK, thanks to some helpful threads on this site, i found there was no VAC going to the VSV's on the firewall.
The vac system looks in a big mess, with what look like un-necessary lines going to places. I'm going to have to slowly figure out what everything does and where it's supposed to be connected. Any tips for this?

Font hubs locked up, although the light should still come on? Brakes working well or are they crap?
Make sure you have a vaccum first, the vaccum pump is normally on the end of the alternator.
One way to test if the pump is working is to pull the pipe of the brake servo you should hear it hiss as the vaccum is released, whilst started.
Believe the VSV maybe located above the brake servo, you should see some rubber pipes attached its only a small thing...
You can always attached a pipe and and suck to engage 4wd in an emergency!!!
One pipe will disengage and the other will engage. have a look on the side of the gearbox to make sure they are connected.
