Is anyone running them and how do you like them? I ruined 2 boggers last time out and am looking at mud grapplers to replace them.

All of the mall crawler/z71/redneck types have them here in sc but my cousin has them on his truck and runs them in a lot of mud since he lives and workes on a farm. Ive seen him put themto use them in mud and they do a pretty admirable job there but they wont do what boggers will. The only problem is they dig way to much so if theres no bottom you will be on the frame very quick. Also they
arent the best in sand because of the digging issues. Ive never really seen them in rocks so i cant really say how they do with that. Since you had boggers noise probably isnt an issue for you but for anybody else out there looking at these they are pretty loud but they drive good with not much vibration and from what Ive heard they arent hard to balance. Over all from what ive seen they are a pretty good tire. Oh and if you want theres a really good review on the fj forum. Im not sure how to post a link but heres the address:

I run them on my F250 they seem to work good for what I use them for.Its my dd and they are noisy not as bad as others like swampers and boggers. They seem like most tires in this class to not last long on the pavement, but I would recommend them and will run them again.

when it comes to mud there are;

Ag tires

boggers

Swamper bias ply

Everything else.

They're not bad off road, they are not fun on icy hills, unless sliding backwards is fun, well maybe then they are fun on icy hills actually.

They seemed to have gotten noisier after about 20K miles of driving, I have uneven tread wear as Im running too narrow of a wheel (fjcruiser 17's), and mine actually have cracking along the sidewall between the sidewall tread lugs, but that may be due to the narrow rims.

In the mud they actually do pretty good, but like other mud tires they are still prone to the really greasy stuff, as maybe there isnt enough void between the lugs to work like paddles (agricultural or cut boggers). Though in some conditions, chains on grapplers could make swampers have to work hard to keep on top. If you bounce down alot of rocky river beds though, chains arent really an option.

On the road the grapplers are alright, but mine howl as loud as the cummins and make a long drive longer. Seriously, at 65mph people beside start looking around expecting a turbo prop plane to be taking off beside them.

But, they work as well or better than most of the other mud radials used on DD's, they arent the top on marks list, but as a radial for a DD in comparison to the other brands they arent a bad choice IMO, and they look really great. They actually get a lot of positive feedback wherever I go with them, not that, thats why I bought them, but it is nice to hear.

I wore a set out on my last Cummins pickup. They were 35/12.50/16's. They lasted maybe 50K and performed well, but like was said, louder than my straight npiped Diesel when they wore down. I ran a set of 33/13.50/15's on my 40 last trip out on rocks and loose, wet trails and they did surprisingly well. I had just sold my 35" boggers to help fund an axle swap, so I used them because my son had them loose from another truck. They really did much better than I expected, I aired them down to about 10 pounds. I hammered on them pretty good and they didn't chunk up, I really was impressed. I was following a group with lockers and 37+ tires and I kept up until I lost one front axle and was 3 wheel drive.

I ended up buying them. They are about an inch larger than my 37 Boggers. They are not as noisy but I don't think they handle as well as my Boggers did. The Mud Grapplers like to wander a lot but they handle wet roads much better. My Boggers were downright scary on a wet road. I am very impressed with the bead protection. They definitely look much better. My first trail ride with them will be Tuesday so I will see how they do in the snow and mud.

What size did you get?

I love my Nitto mud grapplers. i'm running 33x12.50 r20's on my stock dodge ram. far from a mall crawler.
I have 20,000 miles on 'em and they're only 1/2 way worn. extremely grippy on dirt roads, dig fast in sand so keep moving. best tires i've ever had for mud. then again i've only had wranglers, and b.f.getstuck's
I like the noise too.
