what he said... think the weakest link IF you had the knowledge base to have it set up correctly out of the box is the rods... don't get me wrong they are pretty rods but they are a powder forged rod and they all but never break in this very small long rod overbuilt low rpm V8... IF you really want to know more i'd look to the Tundra and 4runner guys they'll tear their crap up alot faster than the cruiser guysThis could honestly go both ways. Does nitrous destroy a properly modified engine? No. Do you plan to properly modify your engine to withstand a nitrous charge? That's up to you. It's also dependent upon what size nitrous shots you're looking at and how often you use it. Nitrous creates a tremendous amount of additional stress on parts of the engine that were not manufactured to withstand it. To properly run a large nitrous shot you would need to upgrade many different components including the rods before you bend one or through one through the side of the engine block, as well as seals, pistons, and many more items. It can increase your chances of running lean or experiencing pre-ignition in the cylinders leading to a burnt cylinder due to the excess heat. Deviating from the engine, additional power also puts additional stress on drivetrain components. This can increase your chances of breaking stuff such as diffs, axles, drive shafts, etc... I am going to assume the consensus with think this isn't the best idea and they wouldn't do it to their rigs, but there's always the question of "why not?" and that's usually dependent on the size of one's wallet. What kind of system are you looking at running?
