Nippondenso or Aisin fuel pump?

Gotta order a new fuel pump for my 62, so I asked CDan about one and he said he needs to know if it's a Nippondenso or an Aisin fuel pump. Weren't Aisins just the mechanical pumps for carb'd engines, or was there an electronic Aisin pump as well? If so, any way for me to tell which one I've got without dropping the tank? I was hoping to get one ordered and delivered before I return to the States.

Checking my 60 series FSM, they show the fuel tank assembly, but NOT the pump... go figure! (page BO - 116).

There's two kind of electronic fuel pump for FJ62 with 3FE.
One is made by AISIN, the other is Nippon Denso.
The only way to figure out checking what's yours is remove pump from fuel tank.
But don't worry about it, you can use any one of them !
Thay are different shape but cross-usable with correct pair of fuel pump filter.

1. 23220-16084 pump with 23217-35040 filter (AISIN pair)
2. 23220-16190 pump with 23217-61010 filter (Denso pair)

Order No.1 or No.2 then you will NOT have any problem !

I was hoping to get one ordered so it'd be delivered before I get back to the States, but I guess I'll just have to pull my tank while I'm at my folks' place and go pick one up from the local dealer. I guess it'll give me a chance to take up the service manager's offer of a beer for serving in the military
