Thanks for the suggestion Eric, these covers are VERY nice. Just what the doctor ordered. My OE steering wheel was litteraly disentigrating (sp?) beneath my hands as i drove. Now it's like a brand new wheel. Price was $50 to the door and took right at 1 hour to install.

www.wheelskins.com

I first saw them in a performance products magazine taylored for the Toyota. WHen i called them to order they said they didn't have one to fit. Bull! So i went online and ordered one. I think the size is AXX. They have it listed on their site.

Yes, the holes are already perforated, and the thread and needle is included. I've only had it on one day, but so far no sweaty palms. Yes it is leather.

I went with the standard style. There are two other options, one being a perforated leather cover, and the other being a two-toned color option. Those two were a little more pricey. :bounce:

You can get them a bit cheaper from www.autoseattle.com . I had one in my old 4Runner in grey. My only complaint was it got VERY dirty VERY easily. The black should work well though.

Nice SYF..what is that the dash lights knob??

just my lockers.

how much of a pita was it to move the security sensor/light over to that side? wasn't too much hassle to move mine around in the center of the truck, but seemed like it would be a major hassle to move it to that side.

btw, wouldn't you have preferred to just have a welded chain steering wheel in it's place? :flipoff2:

Junk, i looked at the welded chain wheels, and even though they are nice, and i like the effect it has on your beater, i just didn't think it was the right choice for me. :flipoff2:

Moving the security light/sensor was really easy because it's not hooked up. THe PO ripped most of the RS3000 system out and really buggered up what was left. So as of right now i have no alarm or keyless entry. Shhhhhhhhhh don't tell. :whoops:

dude, you live in nc, so that should not be a problem :flipoff2:

too bad just the light could not be hooked up in some manner. having it that close to a window would surely deter some folks (not the craftie ones, but some).

Junk i actually thought about trying to just hook up the light. I also thought that having it that close to the window would help a bit too. Hopefully someone wouldn't just stand there waiting to see it flash.

Sweet, my wife wants one of those for our 80, guess I'll have to pony up the doh. Concrete you do know that when a cop walks up and looks at that dash  and sees the SYF he is gonna want to search the entire vehicle. Took all my GD stuff off all vehicles, not that I got anything to hide but sure got tired of being stereotyped and hassled by the law :flipoff2:

You can make them flash with a kit. It is less than $5. Or you can add a keyless entry with a flashing light for about $50.

I used one of these leather wraps on my Toyota Hi Lux. I liked it a lot. It did get ring marks in it fairly easy and I would never do it again. My fingers got poked too many times installing it.

I have spoken with a local stereo shop about a cheap, keyless entry that they could make the OE light flash, and they said they could for $75. It is also an upgradable system where they could add the alarm to it for an additional $50. I'll go that route wayyyy later.

Out here they wouldn't know what those stickers meant. I actually sort of hesitated to put a Go Fast sticker on my 80 because of a similar reason. Cops tend to stereotype people. Fortunately for me I doubt I'll get pulled over in that one as it doesn't go fast.

well, that's why it's on the inside rather than on the back. Not that i have anything to hide ;) . It's a shame that a sticker is grounds for a stereotype, but it is.

It just cracks me up seeing some of these wing-nuts driving around with pot leaf stickers or 4:20 stickers on the back of their cars. Bunch of idiots.

Kinda goes back to something I always here Junk say "Its not your town that sucks, its the people that live in it."

I though I was pretty with it, but I guess not what is a 4:20 sticker?

No Raven your still with it........... :flipoff2: The question is where will you end up with it?

Raven, from what i have gathered from the local yocals, 4:20 is a universal joke with pot heads meaning at 4:20 you are supposed to blaze. I also heard a rumor a long time ago that it once was a police call meaning that a 4-20 was a male being arrested with possesion of marijuana. the SYF is a Steal Your Face sticker, it's the grateful dead sticker with the scull and the lightning bolt going through the middle.

ahh thanks

4:20? That the time everyone gets together to smoke weed. I think it is based off a police code. 420 the call numbers for a drug bust? Somthing like that, so I've heard.
