Aren't those just regular Unique wheels? They're available fairly commonly. I think somewhere around the $89-100 CAD/ea. 4wheelauto in Edmonton sells them on their website also. The Ebay ad didn't mention any backspacing info...but the Chevy 6-bolt pattern would fit, but you would need spacers so fatter tires don't rub.

Look closely at the pictures these wheels were on a 40 series that did not have disc brakes so there is a good chance they will not have the correct backspace to fit on a cruiser with disc brakes (back stop should be 3.25-3.5) I have yet to find a stock 16" wheel with the correct back space on them. I really liked the looks of the 80 series wheels on the 40 but they were 4.5 backspace and hit the tie rod.

I talked to american racing and they told me they discontinued the 15" wheel that had the correct backspace for a Land Cruiser with disc brakes, the reason the said was not enough sales.

Just some food for thought here.

G'day,

I bought a set of 16" steel wheels to put my set of studded tires on my BJ 70 with the toyota bolt pattern and they fit just fine. A little tight on the front brake callipers for my 03 Tacoma, but they fit there also. Don't know what brand they are, bought them locally. If you want to know, I can try to find out.

In Toyota Trails...that guy from South Africa who's taking his Troopy ("Tubby 2") through the Americas...I thought I remember reading that the Toyota steel wheels that he has on there is from an 80 series?

Marlin Crawler sells billet aluminum spacers/adapters that make it possible to use MANY wheels that would otherwise present clearance problems. They are not merely shims, either . . . they are bolted to the stock lug studs and present new lug studs for your wheels to bolt onto. I use them on my 88 BJ-73 and my 76 HJ-45 in order that I might run stock Toyota alloy rims from a 91-93 80 series/Tacoma/4-Runner.

Cold Taco, are they Unique wheels?

21-7760 is the correct number for the Unique 16x7" white wagon wheel (chav app) however the BS is 4". 16" diameter wheels with 4" BS will clear the TRE's due to the larger diameter, however too deep BS will not work. You can get them chromed and in black.

Unique will move the BS to 3.5", so you have stock BS.

There is another manufacturer who will custom BS your wheels, and send them raw to you. Do a search here of on POR and you will find the name: I do not recall it.

Fitment for the calipers is the issue to consider, as others have mentioned.

I ran the 21-7760 with 255/85/R16's on my 1981 BJ42 for a number of years with no issues. Anything larger and you chance running into spring clearance issues. You do lose 1" track width.

I've got the 21-7760 on my BJ74, with bolt on 1.5" spacers, and all is well. My 35" SSR's clear the springs, and my DD 255/85/R16 Coopers look right. Gained a total 2" track width, as the wheels were stock Unique 4" BS.

You can also order a set of 16" wheels from Toyota. 16x6 with 3.75" BS. Very heavy duty wheels. The number should be here somewhere.
