After a few hours of design and fitting, we have almost finished the bike mount and surfboard rack for the interior. The surf board rack still needs one small brace and some grinding but it looks like it will work nice. I utilized the factory bolts from the removed seats for the attachment points in order to drill fewer holes. The fork mount for my bikes are mounted to nuts welded in the floor. I will get all the parts rhino lined this week to match the interior and prevent scratching. Pics on my mobile me site at MobileMe Gallery since I am still a newbie.... Pics are a little dark so I will get more with light soon.
Ok... So after about two months of waiting, I finally started to receive my parts... my bulbar, roof rack, and camper. I've also spent the past few weeks getting other goodies like LED light bars and a mile-marker 9000 lb hydraulic winch. So this week begins the fun
After all the advice I received here and from many tire shops, I have decided to go with adapter plates rather than trying to import a rim from down under... I had my 5x150 pattern switched to a 5x5.5. This will allow me to run a common jeep pattern for many rim choices and give me a 1.5 inch spacer to help the tight rear frame spacing. Had Wheel Fix It in Miami, FL make them for me out of forged aluminum. They look like they should do the trick.... Now I just need to get the backspacing figured out so I can order up some new wheels
Ok, I've been really slack on the updates, but I have been moving right along on the Troopy Project... I have added OME shocks, coil springs, and bushings to the front and shocks only in the rear. WOW what a difference in the ride. I highly reccomend so far. I hope to get the rear springs in the near future. The front kit added about 3.5 inches to the stock height which I needed for my BFG's. Before the kit, I had serious rub issues with the 305's. Now, they fit perfect.
After the suspension work, I added American Racing wheels and BFG MT 305's All in all I think it came out looking pretty good. The adapters also spaced out the wheels which make it look allot better in my opinion. The stock stack is very narrow in the rear. Now I need fender flares. Any sugestions out there? I am playing heck trying to find some. I also added Ridgid ligts all around for true night vision... Man they are bright! Have a 30" on top, two D2's on the front, one D2 for backup and camp site light, and ane Duelly on the side for light.
