Let me clarify this by saying that I only went 110 on it, and I was sitting behind my uncle because he was trying to scare me.

The Mach Z is the fastest gasoline powered vehicle on the planet to 60 and in the quarter mile. It is definately not the fastest in top speed, and I apologise for the miscommunication.

Can you come up with a car/truck that goes to 60 in 2.3 seconds?
I'm thinking some of the Crotch Rockets could probably beat it. I'd love to see them race it out, cause damn my cb600 hornet ain't that fast in comparison and its pretty damn fast. I'd have to say about 130 was my fastest on that, I try to keep it just below a hundred though. Ever see what a bee can do to you at 90 mph ;/

Does 80 count in a HMMWV ; )

Maybe the Hyubasa, but I don't know. A race would be amazing, no, epic.

FJ40 stripped for speed run!!! the 60 next

Stripped down - no roof or doors, stock motor and on 31's, I 've had Mudwiggle (85 FJ40) hump along at 130 Kmh (81mph). Could've of puhed her harder as she was runnung sweetly and holding the road well, but why take the risk, it's illegal to do more than 100kmh (62mph) here on the open roads. Plus we're paying NZ$1.439 cents per litre of 91 Octane fuel - thats roughly US$.96c for a quarter of a gallon

Diesel is NZ $1.059 per litre plus we pay a separate diesel tax based on mileage, and weight that must be purchased before the miles are accumulated. For all 4WD's up to 3 tonnes (6 600lbs) we pay a road user tax of NZ$300.00 (US$200) for every 10 000kms (6000 miles). That's over and above the tax component of the at pump prices.

The NZ government lead by the Greens want to introduce a purchase price penalty for owning a 4WD. NZ$3 - $4000 US$2000 - $2700) may be slapped on top of the purchase price of new , 2nd hand or any imported vehicle deemed as a 4wd.

We have a new way of getting car sick over here - it's when you go to pay for the gas in your truck!

Anyways, that plus the fact that I like to 'cruise' in my Cruisers, they do lend themselves to a more leisurely pace and when occassionally you've got to get the engine redlining as she scrabbles up and out of that bog hole you're in, every ounce of gas was well spent and will never be missed.
