Just got my birfield from CVUnlimited that i won on ebay a week ago. I must admit, i was getting a little worried, but then the brown santaclause showed up at my doorstep this afternoon with my birfield, so all was good  . After inspecting the birf (taking measurments over the phone with CDan, thanks again) we concluded it was the correct birfield for my application. Also on the reciept, i noticed it said "newfield" so i'm assuming it is a treated birfield. My question is on the area where the ABS ring presses on, what's the deal with the gauges in mine? Dan suggested it is something for the ABS ring to bite on; i can agree with that. Any suggestions?

Anyways, a good trail spare IMHO.

Bwahahahaha...........no Dan, i didn't purchase it. It's kinda a funny story; my roommate moved in and his parents had some furniture in their attic they insisted on us using. Well, they have really nice stuff, so i figured it was nice furniture. When we got there to get it, and i saw it was from 1962 and each cushion is made of that really heavy foam (about 50lbs a piece), i started back-tracking. Too late though, they insisted we needed furniture so we got the gold striped couch along with two gold chairs to match. Now it's there for the occasional fulfillment of them stopping in and seeing it in the living room. For now!!

Back to the birf boys.........

Cj,

Can you post another picture of the bell face / star / inner race area?

Those marks look symetrical - evenly spaced, etc.......Why not call George at CV Unlimited to find out?
Depending upon the tolerances, if the ABS ring is tight then the close fit would shear off those marks.

You do know that sofa / couch covers are VERY inexpensive & provide a more modern look..............do you have large, open, long looped shag carpet?

Hey,
My inlaws have the shaggy carpet that goes with that couch.
How much for the set?

Wow, this is sooooooo non-tech.

And the shag carpet is in the "shop" part of the house and in the attic (which is PINK shag, by the way).......and we rent, so fawk it, i aint replacin' it.

Make an offer on the set! :grinpimp:

Oh, and for tech.....

the notches are probably added because cv unlimited had problems fitting the abs rings on their early newfields. Landtoy80 (Kurt) can tell you all about it.

All you need now is a pink bedspread with white polka dots. Personally, I like that couch. It has a comfortable Al Bundy kind of look to it. :D
