Just a quick update:

Eben and I start the wiring this morning. Turns out even Larry is gonna come over and give us a hand. I have no idea how long it'll take, but it's looking more and more likely that we'll have a December run date. :)

It runs!!!

Started easily, runs smooth. Idle's a bit high....couldn't run it long enough to let it warm up to op temp (no coolant yet). May have to reflash the PCM to get rid of 'cold start' feature.

Anyone know of any shop that can reflash a 22re computer?

John's ready to break a new trail we discovered last month. Let's get it out there.

So, I assume you guys got it all wired? Or did ya half a$$ it just to hear the motor run;p :D

Nope....half assed. Just hot-wired it off the battery. We're close though. Probably another full day of wiring to complete it, but the gauge cluster, rock lights, tails, headlights, back up light, ARB compressor and OBA compressors are all wired. Pretty much all that's left is the harness to the alternator (and that's partially done) and then making the computer/engine harness and all the other ends come together and then looming it and tying it out of the way.

Sean

Let me guess....the trail is in Florence:D

What's wrong with Florence?

Ya, I'll be up for a run.....I'll need to get a little seat time in close to home (probably lower Woodpecker and H2H) to make sure everything's okay.

I'm :bounce: :bounce2: off the walls. Man, I wanna finish this thing, but it'll be at least a week or so before Eben can get back over to finish the wiring.

Nothing, inside joke. We like to give BMAN grief because that's the only place that he wheels and we live in a big state with tons of cool wheeling spots.:D

No pics... it's top secret stuff man. Besides, John's all scared anyway, it was more of a stab at him.

I'm actually thinking upper Ajax might be another good "shakedown" run or at least a 2nd run or something.

And John.....I'm trying to keep the cage scratching to a minimum. Put it this way, if I'm the only one going through this trail, where's the fun in that? ;) Is it something you and Branden could do or is this an optional side obstacle on the "secret" trail?

Fawk! You're gonna make me run H2H again? It took me 6 months to recover from it the last time I was up there.

I guess I should figure out something to do with my axle then...(its kinda bent).

Well, that's only assuming that Lower Woodpecker goes without incident. ;) We may keep it real simple and run Middle Woodpecker next and then just decide what everyone wants to do. It's been so long since I've wheeled, I wouldn't mind running ANY trail.

I'm just hoping I go over it really well and don't miss something obvious since I'm rushing to finish. I'd hate to forget to tighten a jam nut on a link or something stupid and have a bad failure.

We could both do it...it's just that the line around a HUGE boulder is really tippy into the boulder. The boulder sits directly in the middle of the wash and you can go around it either way...it's just that there is two bushes on one side, so your kinda forced to go the other way around.

You'd probably be giddy as a school girl just to drive that thing down Cottonwood Canyon.:D

Lower and Middle Wood is a good days playing...if it doesn't take long, could even run Upper Wood and hit all three.

I wanna go! :bounce:
I hope it's not Turkey weekend, I'm out of town.
