I am a new FJ40 owner and new to this site. I have always wanted an FJ40, but never pulled the trigger. Well I finally found one I liked, thanks to the help of Josh(77cruiser). I need a few things and wanted to aks a few questions. I have ordered a Paki Top from OCD Tops and bows from real steel crusiers. I am looking for doors for it that are in pretty good shape. They came with some doors that are in bad shape, so I may just turn those into half doors. I want a tuffy console and before I order one I wanted to see if anybody had one they were selling. I also wanted to know if anybody has Bazooka Tube speakers in there FJ40? They are made for boats, but look like they would be perferct to put in the back.

Welcome! That is a beautiful 40 - what's the full story behind it? Looks to be in awesome condition. Hopefully you can make it to an event soon to meet everyone!

(Sorry I can't be of help on the 40-specific stuff, but I am sure folks will chime in soon.)

Welcome and nice 40, watched it on cl for awhile. Real good find. On the rear speakers, are you talking about wakeboard tower speakers that you can clamp to the roll bar? If so, I know several that run them, and I have been pondering on ordering a set. (size of the speakers is the only thing holding me back).

also, what part of charlotte are you in?

A guy in Charlotte bought it about 10 years ago an did most of all the work himself. It is in amazing shape!! He had the motor rebuilt, added 4 wheel disc breaks, saginaw power steering, and the list goes on. It is has by far the best paint job on it of any of the FJ40's I have looked at.

I have attached a picture of the speakers. They are a little big, but the sound is great and if I get caught in a thunderstorm like last night they will be fine. I am just not sure were I want to mount the becasue of there size.

I live in South Charlotte off Hwy 51.

Josh sent me a text with the pic of your 40 right after you got it. Looked good on my phone and even better here on Mud. Hope to see it in person soon! I hear it even has tilt steering!

Great looking cruiser. If I can get a charlotte meeting together soon you'll have to bring it.
I've got quite a few messages asking when the next one is but haven't found the time for it. Might have to plan it for one night after work.

It does have tilt steering, and it comes in handy with me being 6'5". I am also going to have to try and figure out how to mount the seats back a little more.

I would like to come to the next meeting and see everybody's FJ's. I never thought I would have gotten hooked like this, but looks like I am going to have to add this to my list of hobbies!!!

Great looking cruiser, it appears you have a poly gas tank in it. Have you had any fuel vapor issues?

Welcome to the club great group of individuals here with a lot of knowledge - hope to see you out on one of the rides in the future.

ha! I never even thought of that... good call

Justus is a big guy, He makes me feel short. I had to go look at another truck because without the tilt there was not enough room to sit in the drivers seat!

This truck is no joke one of the cleanest i have seen. You could eat off the engine, you can see your reflection in the paint and there is literally no rust on the truck. That bikini top is hand sewn too.

I think Justus just ordered a tan OEM style top from OCD Beetle as well so its going to look awesome. Since its only got a 3spd tranny right now you can hear him comin from 1/2 mile away but engine still purrs...
